„ Since I was able to think my life has been all about climbing. When I was twelve I joined the training group in Augsburg and till today I am fascinated by this sport. In my youth I spent most of my time bouldering outdoors but I also participated at some regional comps although I wasn't very inspired by comp climbing. This changed after spending a year abroad though. . From 2015 to 2019, I was a member of the national bouldering team and was able to compete in a few international competitions during that time. Rockclimbing is still a lot of fun for me. Since 2020, I have been living in Munich to complete my traineeship. Unfortunately, this phase of my life is very time-consuming, which is why I don't get to climb/boulder as often as I would like. However, the end is in sight and I'm looking forward to having time for training and the rock again!" “

about Mantle

„ I am quite fussy when it comes to chalk but the Mantle Chalk was able to convince me in every aspect. At comps and hard bouldering problems outdoors often the grip determines success or failure. In my opinion the grip of the Mantle-Chalk is one of the best ones. “

Questions to Simon

What do you usually do in your spare time?

If there is any time left for other things than training, I enjoy reading, catching up with friends, spending some time in the nature or I simply don't do anything. :)

Give us a fun fact about you or a remarkable experience in your climbing career.

Immediatly before my first comp I burst out in tears because I was so nervous. I just wanted to go home. I felt so uncomfortable to climb in front of so "many" people. On that day I swore to myself that I will never participate at a comp ever again. Today, I feel excited climbing in front of many people who cheer for you.

What are your long term and/or short term goals?

After I finally finish my two-year traineeship this year, I will have more time for climbing again next summer. There are still a few projects in Switzerland that I would like to try. But also short routes in the Frankenjura are still waiting for me!
